Amazing how this thread has been twisted so much! Good update, and definately a step in the right direction.

Thoughts:
1. Overall a good update that attempted a lot of things that need to be done, and even accomplished a few of them.
2. Very disappointed with the CoP nerf. CoP could have been nerfed in a way that killed cryway without killing the skill entirely, but instead CoP got sent to the dustbin (along with the PvE mesmer). A better nerf would have been: "Target foe is interrupted and loses 1 mesmer hex. If a mesmer hex is removed in this way, target foe and all foes in the area take 50...100 damage."
3. Happy that RoJ bug got fixed.
4. Did I mention "happy that RoJ bug got fixed"?
5. We Shall Return buff was not well thought through. The undead mobs in the desolation are more than a bit ridiculous now. Nerf the skill or change the monster builds, either one.
6. PvP necro nerfs really hurt a class that was already quite weak in PvP. Why?
7. Paragon buffs look great... maybe even too good...
8. Rit buffs look... interesting... I've got a bad feeling that all the buffs to offensive spirit spam still aren't going to make it viable. You've still got exceedingly fragile summons on exceedingly long recharges. I'm a bit interested to see if the hp buff (via level buff) and new armor of unfeeling might make a AP "ritlord" worth playing.

33% AoE heal reduction for low investment.

Spirit changes are awesome.
Although this might change once I've tested them, right now I'd say awesome job, ArenaNet. SP may still be somewhat weak, but spirits, man... spirits. Time to test it.

Fighting Razah in the Norn Tournament was pretty fun after the change.
It's REALLY great going around spamming spirits like if there is no tomorrow. And now spirit destruction skills are waaaay more tasty.

Most people don't despise SCs its mainly the minority of people like the ones here on guru.
But you brought up another one of my points to NOT nerfing things like this.
Like it or not it encourages pugging. While "balanced" builds do not.
You can't bring in a group of heroes and do a speed clear but you can bring heroes and do a balanced build leaving pugs behind. SCs require you to play with pugs and thats one thing that people have been whining about is not enough pugging.
So leave this stuff alone or you will lose more players. I know a few are gone after this update myself included.

Having spent time playing since the update, I've quickly become jaded with the ritualist changes. It was really exciting to see so many changes, but when you think about it, the majority were just based on speeding up set-up time, which really wasn't my main problem with ritualists in the first place
I'm hoping that next month, we can see meaningful changes to the rit skillsets.
Making useless skills like...the majority of the Channeling line (Lamentation, Renewing Surge) interesting.
Fixing Vampirism and Signet of Spirit's targeting glitches.
Buffing Weapon time in Spawning Power further, so that weapon buffs can be as lengthy as they were pre-patch with a reasonable investment in SP (~10).
Making the Communing spirits more durable (even with Armor of the Unfeeling, it sucks. Only effecting party members, that would help with MM teams), they should at least be 75% as effective (durable) as an imbagon's shouts, considering how much of the bar has to be invested in it, and with so little energy management available outside of Assassin's Promise.
Speaking of energy management, Ritual Lord giving 5 energy per binding ritual?
It was a decent step, and I was really happy to see rits get some attention, but it hasn't solved the classes' problems. It just doesn't have enough interesting skills, and the majority are still better used by other classes.

RoJ AND Cryway nurfed??? So long pugs, Urgoz, Deep, forever.
Rit Spirit buffs still are not enough. THE AI TARGETS ENEMIES WITH THE LOWEST ARMOR AND HEALTH, WHICH ARE SPIRITS. Spirits need to be level 2...24 to even survive in HM. Even that damage reduction skill won't stop pwnage of spirits. And SP is still worthless.
oh and gg on no XTH points on all 6 of mine and my gf's accounts. That was pro.

The only further changes I'd like to see is spirit AI fixed, and Spawning Power's spirit effect changed from health to armour or level bonus.
(And it would be nice, but overpowered, to let each Ritualist have his own set of spirits...)

Why nerf all the good stuff back in the day but now leave easily done, overpowered farms alone?
Anyone remember 12k shards? Yea ursan runs in fow killed those prices, and they have never recovered.

Who cares?
Thats my point you people are whining because your ecto and shards have lost value wtf gives a crap.
I have ectos, shards Expensive items like obby edge, emerald blade ect . But who cares. Its not about the items its about being able to play the way we want to play. ALOT of people enjoy SCs. Some dont but guess what they dont have to do them. Stop crying about your pixels getting cheap please.
Although like I said i'm done with GWs after this next week. So wont even be having any of these items anymore, will be giving them away through out the week.

Please, play before you whine. If you position them with a bit of thought, and use AoU, your spirits will live fine. A couple will die usually, sure, but you can get them back up immediately now.

You are completely missing the point. When the game first came out there were lots of great awesome cash machine farms. They were nerfed so bad. Now the same, even more powerful farms are left alone.............

I agree with you. For instance I loved playing keg farming, and now I can't have fun there anymore. Running to Jaga Moraine was a challenge in itself.
I love playing vale necro in UWSCs (guess what, you don't get ectos there, like, EVER [at least not me]), and I'm playing it exactly because it's fun, not because it's profitable. I have to laugh about it LOL, vale necro profitable bwahahaha...
I don't care if people's specially hoarded ectos get cheaper (or my few ectos, for that matter)... so what! I would like to play the game the way it's fun for me. If UWSCs are not fun for you, then don't play it and quit whining LMAO.
On a side note Hailey, where can I sign up for giveaways?

Guess what YOU are the minority on this matter not me. Go into any town and ask if they want these things nerfed I can gaurentee you more people will say no.
I do SCs for fun, not every one has 2-3 hours to complete a run so these SCs offer a way to do this for those who don't have as much time which is also good. It also gets people to join pugs another GOOD thing. Hate to tell ya this but these SCs do more good then bad. As far as game not missing me...lol. I could care less if the "game" misses me I know the people I have talked to over the past 4 years will though. I sure in the hell won't miss people like you though.
|
Of course YOU think it's good, because it benefits YOU. I don't care what the majority of players thinks is good or bad. In general, players don't know what is good for the game and are only concerned with what benefits them. Anet pretty much went and said that they don't like speed clears and certain areas were not meant to be completed in that way. That's it. Since you love to ask "Who cares?", I'll answer that for you. Anet cares and that is really all that matters. Players come and go, but once Anet gives up the game is done. Go ahead and quit. It'll probably be better for you.

The recharge of Signet of Spirits is fixed.
But the spirits summoned by Signet of Spirits are still broken.
One more thing, Spirit Siphon should be self-targeting to function properly.
But if you cast Spirit Siphon while targeting anything out of your spell range (usually a foe before encounter), it will make you run to the target to cast even if the spirit is adjacent to yourself. If the nearest spirit is outside of casting range from your target, Spirit Siphon will fail.
You have to press hot key to target self before casting Spirit Siphon to make sure it can work properly. This is annoying.

so, killed some of the mesmer lovers. i mean, cop was overpowered in cryways, sure, but was quite fine when vqing with h/h or something. moving cop to domination line and moving cry of frustration to sunspear instead would be much better.
two main mesmer skills got nerfed and well, most of other mesmer skills aren't that much used in pve. i mean, for someone who really likes mesmers and plays primairy mesmer with almost-mesmer-only skills, the nerf is unpleasent. but well, we'll probably get used to soon.
is the RoJ scatter added to pvp npcs as well? i mean, jq/fa? cause that was the major issue i think.
ritualist and paragon buffs are really nice. well done.
but still, no 'love' for sf :3
